Artist Copy Project: progress post one

This week I finished up scaling the drawing up to a larger size. For the mark, I started at first with a pen but then switched to brush with ink because that was better for recreating the mark. The practice that I did with the brush is on the bottom of my test sheet. Using the brush helped me get a curved hatching shape since I didn't have to focus on how I was angling the pen like I had to do on the top. I've used some of the mark on the drawing and right now I think it's a bit too dark. Next class I am going to experiment more with watering down the ink. So far with that process I have had some trouble getting the right shade because I'll end up adding too much water or ink, so most of my test colors have been too light or dark.
